Oct. 02, 2017

The Moose Jaw Generals suffered their first loss on Sunday.

The Generals closed out the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League Showcase in Warman with a 4-1 loss to the Prince Albert Mintos, dropping their record to 2-1 on the year.

Cal Caragata scored a power play goal late in the first period to tie the game at 1-1 after one, but the Mintos potted three unanswered goals after that, including an empty netter in the final minute to take the win.

Parker Fofonoff had a goal and two points in the win for Prince Albert, while Luke Nkwama, Kishaun Gervais and Hunter Schnell also found the back of the net.

Generals goalie Jake Davidson turned away 26 shots, while Moose Jaw managed just 14 shots on the Mintos’ net in the loss.

The Generals will now get ready for their home debut coming up on Saturday when they host the Saskatoon Contacts at Mosaic Place.
