Generals Meet World War II Veteran Gordon Moore

Nov. 06, 2017

On Monday November 6th, the team met 94 year old WWII Veteran, Mr. Gordon Moore. Gordon served on the HMCS Montreal from 1942-45 as a 1st Class Stoker. Their Frigate was on convoy duty escorting supply ships carrying airplane parts and food supplies from Eastern Canada thru the Atlantic to England. He shared a first hand account of being pursued by Nazi submarines and witnessing a ship that had been ripped in two by Nazi torpedoes. It was a humbling and rewarding experience for the players to put a face to the facts that they learn about in school regarding Remembrance Day! Thank You to all of our veterans and those who still serve and protect!
